Feeling behind on your 2016 goals? Let's reassess

By Chloe Mark | July 2016

We have arrived. Past the 4th of July and entering into the halfway point of 2016. If you're like many of us, you still have a long list of goals (at work and off the clock) that haven't even been touched this year. The day-to-day pressures and tasks have gotten in the way, and your big goals have not quite been met.

It's time to revisit our New Year's ambition. What were your goals at the start of the year and how can we reassess and actually get them done?

It's not that we don't have the ability to achieve what we imagine, it's that we have yet to map out how to get it done and moreover, we neglect to follow these steps day after day. As our V.P. of marketing, Lisa, has put it before,

"Ironically enough, it can actually be more productive to start small than it is to dream big."

Here's our list for revisiting (and accomplishing) your 2016 marketing goals:

  1. Hone in on your top 3 goals – limit yourself here to your main priorities.
  2. Write out these goals and place them in a spot where you'll see them each day. Your laptop's background, your alarm clock, your to-do list – heck, even post-it notes will do. It's important to be reminded of your overall purpose throughout your day.
  3. Connect your daily to-do items with your 3 goals. Make sure you can see a path to achievement and have set up everyday tasks to get there eventually.

Even though revisitng your New Year's goals can be discouraging, this may be the best time to do it. You now know what is realistic. You can still dream big, but your dreams are more informed and you have a less lofty timeline for getting them done.
