This week’s Tuesday Tidbit comes to you on this: the week leading up to Halloween, when moms, partygoers and all of us procrastinator extraordinaires are Googling like mad to find a last-minute costume.
If there’s content on your site about Halloween costumes, wouldn’t it be fantastic if you had multiple ways to get in front of the thousands and thousands of searches being performed?
Explain it with video.
Let’s take a step away from Halloween. No matter the query and no matter the content, providing a video answer is another way of reaching your audience. According to Google, 83% of moms search for answers to their questions online, and of those, 3 in 5 turn to online video in particular. In fact:
Of moms surveyed who view videos on YouTube, 81% watch how-to content. In fact, moms are significantly more likely to watch how-to content than the average viewer.
Whether or not moms are your audience, this data is a compelling reason to think more intensely about video content. What questions from your industry or topic can you answer with video?
I'll leave you with this: It's time to think of YouTube not just as a place to put your video so you can embed it on your website. It's a whole different content platform, and should be treated that way!
