Meet Darrell: ArcStone's New Intern

By Darrell Block | November 2016

We recently gained some fresh talent, Darrell Block, to help with website management, QA, content development and beyond. Learn more about who he is, why he chose to be at ArcStone and what he hopes to do while he's here.

"Hi there, I'm Darrell, ArcStone's new intern through the YouthLink Beacon Program.

I am a huge martial arts fan and student. I also enjoy singing, though my singing sounds like nails on a chalk board – but, hey we all accept who we are.

My background includes working with people from different walks of life, from helping those who love to be helped and those who require patience to help. Either way, appealing to those who I am serving or reaching out to is an essential skill needed to work in the industry of marketing and social media. I wouldn't sell paper weights to an online only company, is all I'm saying.

To be apart of the next big thing is what really drew me into seeking out becoming an intern at ArcStone. As a Minecraft player (novice), I have come to understand that creativity is important, however it means very little if there is no productivity to match the creative process. Hence, I know Arcstone has both abilities; they have been in business for almost 20 years, which puts them in a great position to understand how to operate in today's industry and how to stay current on relevant topics. In just the little time I have been here, I can see how important it is to work independently for the larger goal in sight, which is essential for the team. There is no "I" in team, but there is tea and hopefully biscuits!

Regardless, I have big, but achieveable, goals to reach while here at ArcStone. I'll share a few with you that seem most relevant:

  • Becoming more knowledgable about how the back end of websites work.
  • Learning to advertise more efficiently
  • Being able to produce blogs that will entice people to share with others
  • And lastly, to do my part as an intern for the time that I am here with the ArcStone family."
