In a building amidst other warehouses and offices in Roseville, Minnesota, young lives are being changed through the generosity and benevolence of the people at Kids In Need Foundation.
KINF is an organization that provides free school supplies to children that may not have the financial means available to supply their own. Established in 1995, the heart of the organization's ideals lies within their 40 affiliate Resource Centers, locations that house "stores" where teachers can shop for free supplies for their classes.
These locations also have an area where volunteers "build" backpacks by filling them with school supplies for students in need. The process begins with pallets of supplies that includes backpacks, folders, pencil packs, notebooks, scissors, markers, crayons, rulers, pens, pencils, erasers, pencil sharpeners in large boxes that need to be opened into large plastic bins. From there, the supplies go into a production line, beginning with the backpacks that are then filled with the materials provided.
On Tuesday morning, a group of the ArcStone staff shared in this experience and built 453 backpacks for kids that will need these supplies for the upcoming school year.
*The organization is always accepting volunteers throughout the school year, not just in August before school starts.
KINF continues to grow through financial and product donations, fundraisers and time given from volunteers. Wondering how you can help? Connect with Kids In Need Foudation here.
