We all have our secrets. Mine is in the open these days, as the evidence is right on my desk. I love old movies and adore Robert Osborne. It’s a relief not to hide it any more.

For some addictions there are 12 step programs and rehab. I'm lucky that mine trends to festivals and cruises. I picked up my RO bobblehead on the TCM classic cruise last December. Yes, the Caribbean is lovely, but when I see Robert nodding on my desk, I’m transported to watching beach movies on the ship's deck, film noir, and silent movies with a live orchestra. It was the best of summer camp with no spiders or lanyard weaving. And there was Robert Osborne in person.

I was thrilled disembarking with my bobbling companion, knowing he'd brighten many a workday. What could be better?! Then I shared my cab with a fellow movie fan. She'd had HER bobblehead autographed by the man himself. Next cruise, Robert, I'll be looking for you.
