For when you're feeling discouraged about your content marketing efforts... (+more)

By Chloe Mark | August 2016

What should you know before you really dive into the week? Here are 3 marketing pieces we thought you'd want to see as you start off your Monday.

Stats that show "Why is Content Marketing Today's Marketing"

If you're feeling discouraged about your content marketing efforts, these stats may boost your confidence. Content Marketing Institute points to impressive numbers such as:

  • "For every $1 spent, email gives back a whopping $38 in ROI, and offers the broadest reach (CampaignMonitor)."
  • "When content marketing adopters and non-adopters are compared, the adopters have conversion rates that are nearly six times higher than their competitors."
  • "In August 2015, approximately 200 million people worldwide had installed ad-blocking software."

Google Killing Organic Results

Google's joining the likes of Yahoo and Bing, with ads filling up the "above the fold" section of a user's results page. Read about some issues we're running into with organic search results such as:

  • "The downside for companies utilizing paid search is that since organic traffic will eventually slow down, more advertisers will be forced to spend more money on PPC instead of solid SEO."
  • "[T]his will force advertisers to extend their marketing efforts to the same emerging platforms Google is trying to divert advertising dollars from."

Instagram as Customer Service

  • New "contact" option on Instagram
  • Brands like Nordstrom and Delta already using this feature
  • “Social, after all, is a brand’s first line of defense — both for reputation management and customer service.” Kevin Del Rosario
