As we approach the New Year, nonprofits definitely have a new social media feature to get excited about: Facebook's "Fundraiser" Pages. But how do Facebook Fundraiser pages work?
Launched Wednesday (11/18/15) to a few partner organizations - Mercy Corps, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and World Wildlife Fund - this feature allows qualified nonprofits to craft a page specifically around one fundraiser. To help aid in our understanding, Facebook explains that it functions similarly to an event page.

Fundraiser pages features include...
- A description section and the normal Facebook Page features such as a cover photo and profile picture - all centered around the fundraiser.
- A "Donate" button that brings viewers direction through to actually donating. This also appears on the posts of Facebook users who share the page.
- The option to invite potential donors to the page (just like with an event page).
- A platform to update the donors / followers with photo, video, a progress bar and discussions.
This feature is only available to 40 nonprofits through the Holiday Season, but will be open to more come New Year.
