You can totally blog from Google Docs now, right into your WordPress website!

If you blog consistently, you're probably like us at ArcStone: ideas, everywhere! I'll write ideas for posts down on pretty much anything, notepads, emails-to-self, napkins, even my hand sometimes. Many writers are aware of cool tools like Evernote and Zapier to keep things organized and automated. Google Docs has always felt really natural to me, so I was excited to find out I can now blog for WordPress sites right within Google Docs.

The WordPress Blog just announced they've released a new add-on that lets users write, edit, and (my favorite thing about Google Docs) collaborate in Google Docs. With the add-on you can save your document as a blog post for any WordPress.com or Jetpack-connected WordPress website.

Aside from setting featured images, or selecting categories for the post, you're pretty much done. If you're using the handy formatting dropdown to assign markup, even this carries over from Google Docs to WordPress. Then all you have to do is publish that puppy, and you're set!

Another awesome bonus of it being through Google is that their products are designed to work brilliantly well on mobile devices. When blogging this is incredibly helpful – just plug away at a blog post from your phone and even collaborate with other mobile writers. You can do so knowing that it's all going to the WordPress CMS with the push of a button.

Check out this cool new tool at the Google Web Store, install it and configure permissions with your website and you're ready to go! All the integration functions are located in Google Doc's Add-ons menu, you can publish to your site from there.

It's very simple to use this integration and we're excited to see what more comes out of this clever idea. If you're into nerd-stuff like us, check out the source code on GitHub.

Creating great content for your visitors is even easier with this add-on from Google Docs. If you dig it, let us know!
